St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance has received the coveted top four-star rating from Charity Navigator, the leading charity evaluator in America, for an eighth consecutive year.
The distinction places St, Mary's in very elite company among charitable organizations - only one percent of the charities rated have received a four-star designation over that time period, highlighting the Food Bank's consistent ability to efficiently manage and grow its finances.
St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance distributed a record 72.2 million pounds of food into the community during fiscal year 2009/10. Combining donated financial support and value of donated food, 96 percent goes directly to program support. Every one dollar donation enables the Food Bank to deliver enough food for seven meals.
