Popular Ahwatukee Foothills café The CoffeeBuzz, 4804 E.
Chandler Blvd., closed last week after a five-year run.
Its former location, situated at the northeast corner of Chandler
Boulevard and 48th Street, is empty this week and in search of a
new tenant.
CoffeeBuzz owner Dimitri Lazarescu did not return phone calls
seeking comment, but the café's website states that the business
closed its doors forever on Oct. 25. The coffee shop formerly
hosted musical guests and the works of local artists.
"We encourage you to continue your support for the local business,
as the small business is the heart and motor of our sagging
economy," the café's website states. "By supporting the mom-and-pop
shops you support yourself and the community. Please don't stop
doing that."
