Kerr joins South Mountain Primary Care in Ahwatukee

Jill E. Kerr, D.O., a board-certified family medicine physician, has joined South Mountain Primary Care, a physician group of Arizona practice.

Kerr specializes in preventive and medical care for children, adolescents, adults and seniors. She has more than 23 years of family, emergency and urgent care experience, including private practice. She also has advanced certification in pediatric and cardiac life support.

Kerr is accepting patients at South Mountain Primary Care, 4530 E. Ray Road, Suite 190.

LeadZSmart business meetings on Wednesdays at chamber

A LeadZSmart Leads Group meets every Wednesday at the Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce, 10235 S. 51st St., Suite 185. A meet and greet starts at 7:30 a.m. and the meeting is from 8 to 9 a.m.

All who attend will have a 60-second intro at the beginning of the meeting, followed by a 10-minute member presentation. The meeting will also include a lead referral lesson and group discussion.

McCollum named President of Chandler University

Dr. Glenna McCollum has been named the first President of Chandler University beginning July 1.

McCollum is a recognized leader in Arizona, is native to Chandler and has been in educational leadership since 1990. She is an avid proponent of postsecondary education and training, particularly in a world changed by technology and globalization.

McCollum holds a Doctorate in Management and Organizational Leadership from University of Phoenix, a Masters in Public Health and Nutrition from Loma Linda University and Bachelor degrees from Arizona State University. She serves on the national Board of Directors for the American Dietetic Association, the statewide Board of Directors for Project CENTRL (Center for Rural Leadership), was a founding member of Gold Canyon Bank in Gold Canyon and has served 13 years on the local Board of Directors for the Chandler Education Foundation. 

Chandler University will begin as an online university offering high quality programs in business, computer science, education, liberal arts, nursing, nutrition and sustainability.  The campus will expand to an 80-to-100-acre campus near the Price Corridor in Chandler. Chandler University is poised to take post-secondary education to the next level by combining a live video platform of face-to-face learning with the convenience and cost-effectiveness of distance education.

East Valley Business Breakfast Group

The East Valley Business Breakfast Group meets on the third Thursdays of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the community room at the Chandler Police Department, 251 N. Desert Breeze Blvd.

The EVBBG is a not-profit volunteer organization promoting growth of small, minority, women and diverse business owners. No membership is required, and services are provided by experts and professional mentors.

Hosting an event for the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce is a way to get your business noticed.

Tuesday morning mixers are from 8 to 9 a.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at a local business. Dates needing hosts are July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14. Wednesday evening mixers are from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month, also at local businesses. Open dates are June 16, July 21, Aug. 18, Oct. 20 and Nov. 17.
