Passengers visiting Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Tuesday, Oct. 5, will be treated to free candy, popcorn and more as the airport celebrates its second Customer Appreciation Day.

"This is our opportunity to give back to our customers, to say thank you and to let them know how much we appreciate them," says Airport Director Danny Murphy.

Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon will be in Terminal 4, level 3 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. personally thanking customers for flying PHX. In addition, employees and Navigator volunteers will be handing out "THX from PHX" stickers. Sky Harbor's mascot, Amelia the Airplane, and Paradise Bakery's giant cookie mascot will be in the terminals greeting travelers and posing for photos.

Many of Sky Harbor's shops and restaurants are also joining in the celebration.

Sky Harbor customers are encouraged to report good customer service or "random acts of friendly" by e-mailing not just on Customer Appreciation Day, but all year round.
