Q: Where are you from and what did you do before opening your business?

A: Greg is originally from the Chicago area and moved to Phoenix in August 1974. He started working for a custom window and door manufacturing company in 1978, eventually becoming chief estimator/engineer and finally being downsized last May.

Dave is originally from northern California and has lived in Tempe since 1993. He worked as a regional field specialist and senior project manager for a nationally known medical imaging company for 25 years and was laid off due to downsizing in 2008.

Q: Why did you open your business in this community?

A: We both live locally and felt it only made sense to start our business here and to support others in the area. No Slip Zone is a statewide company and we are proud to have our home base in the Southeast Valley.

Q: How did you get the idea to open your business?

A: Since Dave and I were in the same employment situation, we decided to do something together. We knew we wanted to not only help ourselves, but help others as well. After researching many opportunities, we decided that we could help people by reducing slip and fall accidents. Safety in the home and at work is so very important; therefore, No Slip Zone was born.

Q: What type of merchandise/services do you sell?

A: Our No Slip treatments on tile, marble, concrete, porcelain bathtubs, showers and even cool decking create a non-visible microscopic tread pattern that result in surfaces being more slip resistant when wet. We service both residential and commercial markets and our treatments meet or exceed all commercial ADA and OSHA regulations. Since our product is not a coating, it will not peel, crack, chip or wear off.

Q: What does your business have in store for the future?

A: Because supporting our local community is very important to us, our goal is to hire and train local residents for our service crews by mid-year.

Q: Anything else you want the community to know about you or your business?

A: Many people think that slipping and falling is mainly a problem for the elderly, but statistics show that we are all at risk. The National Safety Council reports that there are 25,000,000 slip and fall accidents per year, resulting in approximately 25,000 victims being hospitalized every day. We want to prevent as many of these accidents as possible, so we offer a no obligation at home or business demonstration. We want you to see for yourself what a dramatic difference No Slip treatments will provide and how much safer everyone in your home or business will be.
