It's a special treat this summer with the crayfish epicurean extravaganza in the IKEA restaurant (2110 W. IKEA Way, Tempe). Centuries old, crayfish parties are an annual event in which friends and family gather in August in lush Swedish gardens to indulge in this shellfish treat.

So, the restaurant is hosting an all-you-can-eat crayfish buffet on Friday, Aug. 20, to celebrate in this Swedish summer tradition. Two seatings are available: 4 to 5:30 p.m. or 5:30 to 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $9.99 for adults and $2.49 for children 12 and under on first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last. Kids may also decorate a crayfish party hat to take home. See any IKEA food coworker at the store for details.
