On Tuesday, Oct. 12, in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Nello's Pizza (4710 E. Warner Road) will be donating a portion of the day's receipts to the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.
Nello's employee Nicole Potekhen will be walking in this year's event with Team THRIVR, a team founded by former Ahwatukee Foothills resident, Jen Hoffmann, who died of breast cancer in April 2009 at the age of 37. Last year, Nello's donated over $1,000 to the team, following a similar event.
Local musician Ronnie Glover will perform live on Nello's patio from 6 to 9 p.m. Glover has been a long-time supporter of Team THRIVR and will be donating his time for the evening.
