Q: Where are you from and what did you do before opening your business?

A: I am double board certified; in family practice and osteopathic manipulative medicine. I received my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University in Pomona, Calif.

I completed my residency training at Midwestern University/Tempe St. Luke’s in family practice and osteopathic manipulative treatment.

I have been practicing family medicine in and around Ahwatukee for more than 10 years.

Q: Why did you open your business in this community?

A: I love this community and have been thinking about opening my own practice for a while. There is a genuine need for a walk-in family clinic that caters to the medical needs of our community and is easily accessible.

With the closure of Dr. Sweet’s practice last year, the families had to travel outside the community to access medical care. The location of our clinic puts it right in the center of the residential part of town.

We wanted to preserve the neighborhood atmosphere of our clinic and avoid the imposing structures some bigger clinics now reside in. We remodeled and upgraded the existing clinic to get a more contemporary look and make the entire experience pleasant for our patients.

Q: How did you get the idea to open your business?

A: The Phoenix Family Medical group has been providing quality medical care to patients in Phoenix and was looking to expand into an area that was in need of quality family medical care.

So, I joined forces with them to combine their practice efficiency and my expertise in family practice and open a clinic focused on patient care above all else.

Our clinic is completely digital and uses no paper charts, we use an Electronic Medical records system to manage patient history, diagnosis, prescriptions and follow ups.

Q: What type of merchandise/services do you sell?

A: We are a family clinic that accepts walk-ins and offers convenient evening hours. We provide medical care to all ages; from infants to seniors.

We provide immunizations, physicals, treatment of chronic conditions, treatment of hypertension and diabetes, perform clinical procedures and offer hormone replacement therapy. We also do well women gynecology exams and well child exams in the clinic.

My emphasis has always been on disease prevention with lifestyle changes, rather than focusing on drug interventions. I am a patient advocate and pay particular attention to individualized care.

My colleague, Dr. Napoleon Ortiz, and I will be focused on your medical treatment with a holistic view of overall health.

Folks can now book appointments on our website through an online scheduler or call our clinic number.

We accept all major insurance plans and are contracted with all Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) plans.

Right from our contemporary and comfortable waiting room to our efficient exam rooms, every effort is made to make our patients’ visits pleasant.

Q: What does your business have in store for the future?

A: We have exciting new services planned for the future, including weekend hours, blood tests on site and addition of a naturopathic physician to complement our holistic approach to health.

Q: Anything else you want the community to know about you or your business?

A: I want our families to know that I am excited to be part of this beautiful community and will work hard to provide them with the best medical attention available.
