Q: Where are you from and what did you do before opening your business?

A: Joe is from Bronx, N.Y., and served more than 26 years in the Air Force. Helen is from Kansas City, Mo., and worked as a social worker.

Q: Why did you open your business in Ahwatukee Foothills?

A: Our love of dogs.

Q: How did you get the idea to open your business?

A: From a similar store in Kansas City. We thought it was a great idea and fun business to have.

Q: What type of merchandise/services do you sell?

A: We sell bakery items, food, collars, leashes, toys, chews and other treats, supplements, homeopathic remedies and other boutique items for both pets and their owners.

Q: What does your business offer that no one else does?

A: We provide quality customer care and individualized service to our customers.

Q: How have residents of the community responded to your business?

A: They’ve been great – love to bring their pets in for a look-see.

Q: What does your business have in store for the future?

A: We are constantly looking for new foods and are increasing our raw food selections and homeopathic remedies.

Q: Anything else you want the community to know about you or your business?

A: We have been at this location for 11 years. We support many animal/pet-related non-profit groups. Vaccination clinics are now held every other Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
