Q: Where are you from and what did you do before opening your business?

A: The owners are all long-term Phoenix residents, fully engaged in other successful restaurants and businesses in the Valley and here in Ahwatukee.

Q: Why did you open your business in this community?

A: It was frankly such a great space that was just begging for a good, solid food and beverage concept. The fact that it was available in Ahwatukee, the biggest cul-du-sac in the world, was the gravy on the mashed potatoes. This community supports you fully when you do a good job, certainly lets you know when you do not, and is very welcoming of quality and appreciates it. That is not always the case in the restaurant industry, particularly when you have fad concepts or people in for what they think will be a quick buck. This space has seen that come and go more than once. We believe in the tortoise and not the hare, so we plan on being here for a long time.

Q: How did you get the idea to open your business?

A: When this space became available, the ownership looked at it very quickly. This would be back in March of 2010. Immediately, they recognized the potential and started formulating the concept from this point: "What if we put in large glass garage doors...?" The rest of the concept flowed from there.

Q: What type of merchandise/services do you sell?

A: High quality, scratch-made comfort food that is elevated from the typical pub grub. We grind our own Black Angus beef for burgers, hand cut and trim our own New York steaks, procure fresh challah bread for our sliders, and slow cook our own shredded barbecue pork. Our craft beer selections is exceptional, and our eclectic wine offerings cover any palate.

Q: What does your business have in store for the future?

A: We look forward to substantially supporting events in the community, busier and busier lunches, and great dinner crowds. Currently we are in the launch of our excellent Sunday Brunch menu as well.

Q: Anything else you want the community to know about you or your business?

A: We love being in Ahwatukee! The support has been warm and enthusiastic, more so than we could have ever wished or expected. We truly appreciate being part of such a great area, with excellent operators like Nellos, Café Boa, My Wine Cellar, Ruffinos'... just a great community of residents and business owners, unlike any other part of the Valley.
