Plans for the community’s annual Red, White and Boom celebration include live bands, activities for the kids, boutique vendors, adult beverage stations, and of course a fireworks show that’s sure to entertain.
Red, White and Boom will take place on Wednesday, July 3 at the Ahwatukee Country Club, at Warner Road and 48th Street. The festival will be from 4 to 10 p.m., with fireworks beginning at 9 p.m.
This year the event is professionally produced by HDE Agency, while still hosted by the Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce. HDE Agency promises the event this year will be bigger and better than ever before with more activities for the kids, more live entertainment, and more vendors.
Headlining the event will be Lane Change, performing from 7 to 8:45 p.m. Lane Change is a local band that plays contemporary rock music. The group recently won first place at the Chandler Teen Talent competition.
The entertainment schedule also includes Radio Disney Rockin’ Road Show, bratwrust-eating competitions for kids and for local firefighters, a color guard march by American Legion Post 64, the National Anthem performed by Jenny Kowalski, and the fireworks, which are expected to last 25 to 30 minutes.
With close to 3,000 total aerial effects, Kendon Victor of Fireworks Productions of Arizona, said Ahwatukee’s fireworks show will be impressive.
Kids can enjoy bounce houses, water play zones and water slides for $1 each. There will also be adult beverage stations and vendors for all ages.
Admission to the festival is free, but guests can purchase Boom! Room tickets for $25 for adults and $15 for kids. The Boom! Room will be a covered and misted area with complimentary food, a dedicated bar and private restrooms. Funds raised from the Boom! Room will support the Red, White and Boom fireworks fund. Tickets are available for purchase online, at the chamber office through July 2, or the day of the event while supplies last. For more information, visit www.red-white-boom.com.
Organizers remind guests to bring cash as most vendors accept cash only. ATMs will be available. Designated event parking is at the Ahwatukee Country Club, 12432 S. 48th St., for $10 per car. There is only one main entrance and two exits.
Stay safe and bring sunblock, hats, sunglasses and unopened bottles of water. No pets are allowed at the event. Lawn chairs, blankets, towels, E-Z Ups, and umbrellas are allowed. Outside food or drinks and weapons of any kind will not be allowed.
