The city of Phoenix will mark National Fair Housing Month in April with a special training session jointly hosted with the Arizona Fair Housing Partnership.

“The Faces of Housing Discrimination” will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at the Disability Empowerment Center, 5025 E. Washington St.

Housing providers, including landlords, leasing agents, real estate agents and property managers, are encouraged to attend.

The cost is $20 until the day of the event, and $25 at the door. To register or for more information, call (602) 252-3423 or visit phoenix.gov/eod/whatsnew.

Fair Housing Month is designated to remind people that federal law prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental and financing of dwellings and in other housing-related transactions, based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, familial status and disability.

To learn more about Fair Housing or if you suspect you have been discriminated against in housing, visit phoenix.gov/eod/investigations/fairhousing or call the Equal Opportunity Department at (602) 262-7486 or TTY (602) 534-1557.
