PHX 11 program to explore teen-dating violence

PHX 11, the city’s information station, is focusing on teen-dating violence in a special edition of “DiverseCity” that premiered this month during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Guests include Phoenix police Cmdr. Kim Humphrey, a nationally recognized law-enforcement expert on domestic violence; Bobbi Sudberry whose teen-aged daughter, Kaity, was shot and killed by an ex-boyfriend who later committed suicide; Jennifer Rauhause, executive director of Peer Solutions, a nonprofit organization that fosters healthy communities; and Gabriella Caezalier, a Tempe High School student who is a community activist.

Each guest has a compelling story to share, in particular Sudberry.

She was instrumental in the passage of Arizona’s “Kaity’s Law” and advocates for legislation to prevent teen-dating violence.
