The Ahwatukee Foothills News took home four Arizona Newspaper Association Awards on Sept. 29 in the organization’s 2012 Better Newspapers Contest.

Holli Roach, advertising production manager for the AFN, took home two first place honors in the non-daily circulation greater than 10,000 division; one for Best Use of Small Space and the other for Best Online Ad-Static.

AFN sports reporter Jason Skoda picked up third place for Best Team, Sport or Sports Beat Coverage-Desert Vista High School in the non-daily circulation greater than 10,000 division.

The Ahwatukee Foothills News also took home first place for Newspaper Online Site/Web Page in the non-daily circulation greater than 10,000 division.

“We are very proud to be acknowledged in the awards, and Holli and Jason certainly deserve recognition for the outstanding work they do,” said Mike Miller, publisher of the AFN.

“Everyone on our staff truly does a fantastic job, and we are all committed to making the newspaper and website a great source for community information and a tool for our residents and readers. For all of us, it’s an honor to serve this great community.”
