There will be limited closures along Phoenix-area freeways this weekend for improvement work, including construction along Loop 303 north of Interstate 10 in the West Valley. The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following restrictions are in place:

Eastbound Interstate 10 off-ramp at Baseline Road closed from 5 a.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 9) for maintenance work. DETOUR: Be prepared to use adjacent eastbound exits, including 48th Street, while the Baseline exit is closed.

Loop 303 closed in both directions between Cactus Road and Peoria Avenue from 3 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 8) for pavement improvements. DETOUR: Consider using Cotton Lane.

Northern Avenue closed between Cotton Lane and Sarival Avenue for approximately two months starting Monday (Sept. 10) for Loop 303 construction. DETOUR: Consider using Olive or Glendale avenues as alternate routes.

ADOT plans and constructs new freeways, additional lanes and other major improvements as part of the 20-year Regional Transportation Plan for the Maricopa County region. The primary funding source is a half-cent sales tax approved by county voters in 2004. More information about ADOT projects and the regional plan is available at www.ValleyFreeways.com.
