It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kylee Ann (Heid) Elovitz, wife of Jonathan Elovitz and mother of Dylan Bain Elovitz.
Kylee passed away on Thursday, May 10, in Ahwatukee. She was on her daily run with their son in his stroller when she suddenly collapsed, and efforts to revive her were unsuccessful. The medical examiner has not determined the cause of death at this time. A memorial service took place for Kylee in Phoenix at Queen of Heaven Mortuary on Saturday May 12. A mass celebrating Kylee’s life was scheduled for Wednesday, May 16, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius V Catholic Church in New Salem, N.D. Interment was at St. Pius V Catholic Cemetery following the service.
Besides motherhood and family, Kylee had two other passions, one was running and the other was her work as an occupational therapist at the schools on the Native American Reservation.
Kylee was very modest so we had no idea how respected, successful, compassionate and creative she was until we heard it from co-workers. As a matter of fact, the school district wanted to set up a scholarship fund for Dylan, to make sure he received a good education. Instead, Jonathan has established a memorial fund in Kylee’s honor. She was so incredibly passionate about the children she worked with and we hope to use the funds to benefit children in the Sacaton School District where Kylee spent much of her time.
To make a contribution in her name, route funds to Wells Fargo account 8966763297 or send checks written out to the Kylee Heid Elovitz Memorial Fund and mail to Courtney Klein Johnson, a friend who has offered to help with this process, at 25 N. Cobblestone St., Gilbert, AZ 85234.
