Representative-elect Kyrsten Sinema was named to the House Committee on Financial Services by the House Democratic Policy and Steering Committee. The committee, which oversees agencies pertaining to the economy, is largely comprised of more senior members.

“It will be an honor to serve on the Financial Services Committee and a great responsibility to work to rebuild Arizona’s middle class,” said Sinema. “Arizona has faced the toughest foreclosure crisis in the country. As a child, I experienced this with my family when we became homeless. My family worked hard to find a home and make it to the middle class.

“The same thing is happening to families today all across Arizona. Families who are struggling have found that the gridlocked Congress has stalled on any real solutions. I’m ready for this challenge and will work with anyone from any party to help move our economy forward.”
