Two men apparently tried to lure a girl into their truck Tuesday afternoon and Phoenix police are warning Ahwatukee Foothills neighbors to be vigilant.

Immediately after Altadeña Middle School let out on Tuesday a female student was walking home near Desert Foothills Parkway and Chandler Boulevard when a white Chevrolet pickup truck pulled up alongside her, said Community Action Officer Benjamin Morris in an email.

Two men were in the truck. They are described as Hispanic males in their 30’s wearing white T-shirts with shaved or short hair. One of the men spoke to the girl attempting to lure her into the truck. The girl ignored the men and eventually the men left the area.

The truck had large chrome rims and was pulling a trailer with landscaping tools, Morris said.

“The school has been notified, but please feel free to pass this along to your neighbors and friends who may have children who walk to and from school,” Morris said. “Take the opportunity to talk to the kids about what to do if approached by a stranger and please make sure that any suspicious activity is reported to the school administration or police.”
