A woman is dead after colliding with a palm tree in Ahwatukee Foothills early Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 1:40 a.m. Nicole Johnson, 28, was driving a 2007 Mitsubishi westbound near 3400 E. Ray Road when she entered the center median and collided with a palm tree.
Johnson was taken to a local hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.
She was the only occupant in the single-vehicle collision and it is unknown if impairment was a factor.
