Rival candidates John McCain and J.D. Hayworth, who are competing for the Republican nomination to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate, both plan to speak to Ahwatukee audiences this month.
McCain, the incumbent and former presidential candidate, is slated to hold a town hall meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10 at the Grace Inn, 10831 S. 51st St., southwest of Elliot Road and I-10 in Ahwatukee. The event will be free and open to the public.
Hayworth, whom Arizonans had previously elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, is set to appear as a guest speaker at the Ahwatukee Republican Women's meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, also at the Grace Inn. Hayworth's appearance is free and open to the public, as well.

This is going to be great...the John McCain and JD Hayworth debate. It will be that JD will humiliate himself, perhaps not to the immediate moment because he is a very smooth talker, but once everyone learns the entire truth around what he has to say they will understand that he is the same guy he has always been. JD can speak, so can Obama...when memorizing rhetoric, talking points and jargon. History matters, ethics matter, truth matters and JD has the history that we do not want in Congress. JD claims he is a conservative yet he has a history that proves otherwise. JD has not only a history of earmarks, pork barrel and wasteful spending yet he will scream conservative. JD made a fool out of himself and showed all of us who he was when he took a scam job on an infomercial claiming to give away free government money. JD is a joke and should not be given the chance to ruin the GOP name anymore.
