Rival candidates John McCain and J.D. Hayworth, who are competing for the Republican nomination to represent Arizona in the U.S. Senate, both plan to speak to Ahwatukee audiences this month.

McCain, the incumbent and former presidential candidate, is slated to hold a town hall meeting at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10 at the Grace Inn, 10831 S. 51st St., southwest of Elliot Road and I-10 in Ahwatukee. The event will be free and open to the public.

Hayworth, whom Arizonans had previously elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, is set to appear as a guest speaker at the Ahwatukee Republican Women's meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, also at the Grace Inn. Hayworth's appearance is free and open to the public, as well.

For more information on McCain's appearance, call Abe Sisson at McCain 2010 at (480) 478-1264. For information on Hayworth's visit, call Ahwatukee Republican Women's contact Loraine Pellegrino at (480) 460-7101.
