Foothills Women's Club

The Foothills Women’s Club is looking for businesses to participate in its loyalty card program, which provides discounts to club members and more exposure for local businesses.

“I’m a shopper. I like getting deals,” said Kathy Hanchette, vice president of the Foothills Women’s Club. “We figured this would be a fun way for everyone to do it. They just carry this card in their wallet.”

Hanchette said the group started its loyalty card program last year. Each of the more than 100 members received a card that gave them a discount at about 20 local businesses.

Members get discounts on pool cleaning, photography, house cleaning, eye care, pet grooming and boutique shopping. The club welcomes applications from any “brick-and-mortar” business; It’s free to join the program, businesses just have to be willing to give a discount to Foothills Women’s Club members.

“I think anything we can do to support each other in our businesses, especially shopping local, is good for business and good for the clients,” said Janet Schwab, co-owner of Elements Massage, which was part of the program last year and again this year. “We’re supporting the women of the community and it’s a nice way to do an outreach. For me, massage is a nice way of controlling the stresses of everyday life.”

Participating businesses are listed on the Foothills Women’s Club website and are also recognized at meetings. The club holds meetings once a month from September to May. For more information on the Foothills Women’s Club, visit To participate as a business in the loyalty program, email
