The Phoenix City Council has approved final plans for a development at the southeast corner of Desert Foothills Parkway and Chandler Boulevard.
Rosewood Homes plans to build 59 super-energy-efficient homes on the lot that was once expected to become a Wal-Mart. The land has been left vacant ever since the neighborhood shut those plans down. The City Council approved rezoning of the land in 2012.
The builders will begin land development in September and model-home construction will begin in 2014. Now that the city has approved final plans for the land, development can begin quickly.
The neighborhood will be gated with a community pool, barbecue area and event lawn.
David Kitnick, president of Rosewood Homes, said his goal is to create a memorable neighborhood in the space that his company can be proud of.
Rosewood has received positive response from the neighborhood so far. They’ve already started collecting information from people interested in purchasing a home once they are built.
