The city of Phoenix offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, to observe the Independence Day holiday.

Buses and Dial-a-Ride will operate on Saturday schedules while the Express and RAPID routes will not operate, according to city officials.

In support of the holiday’s celebrations, METRO Light Rail will ramp up from 20-minute holiday service to 10-minute service by 5 p.m. It will also extend service an additional hour to have the last full trips at midnight rather than 11 p.m.

Phoenix parking meters will be free.

No change will occur for trash collections, though transfer stations will be closed on Wednesday.

In addition, Burton Barr Central Library and all branch libraries will be closed for the day.

The Ahwatukee Foothills News office will also be closed on Wednesday.
