Banner Health, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the U.S., has been recognized for coaching excellence by the International Coach Federation (ICF). During a ceremony that took place June 28 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix.
Banner received the prestigious Prism Award for demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership coaching and integrating it into the fabric of the organization with positive outcomes.
ICF is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession. Its core purpose is to advance the art, science and practice of professional coaching.
Banner Health implemented coaching in 2007 as part of leadership development. Currently, Banner has 13 internal coaches trained through accredited coach training programs, and 25 leaders who have completed a 28-week internal certification program, based on the Co-Active Coaching Model.
These leaders have full-time positions within Banner and offer coaching in addition to their current role.
About 100 leaders including physicians are engaged in one-on-one coaching sessions with an additional 300 receiving this service in the past four years.
Others have participated in group based learning opportunities such as the “Coaches Corner,” which provides a monthly tool for leaders in their everyday leadership and has become common practice within several Banner entities.
In addition, Banner Health has reached more than 40 percent of its 3,500 leaders through the “Leaders as Coach” class, a four-hour introduction to coaching, teaching the levels of listening, powerful questions and introducing the coaching competencies.
Flooring America teams up with Pets for Patriots
Flooring America of Chandler is giving back “one hero at a time” by teaming up with Pets for Patriots to connect at-risk shelter pets at Almost Home Boxer Rescue with U.S. military personnel in the area.
Pets for Patriots supporters can stop by the Flooring America of Chandler store to make a donation to benefit the organization.
Donors will receive their name on the wall of Flooring America’s showroom, which will honor their contribution, and create a show of support for the organization.
The partnership will provide financial support to Pets for Patriots, and will help to raise awareness of the organization and their cause.
It will also allow Flooring America staff and customers the opportunity to improve the lives of local patriots and aging or injured pets in their area.
By donating to Pets for Patriots at Flooring America, staff and customers will help to aid area veterans returning from deployment or transitioning to civilian life; active military personnel looking to fill the void for their families as a result of their deployment; and long-term veterans experiencing feelings of isolation, loneliness, or lack of purpose.
In doing so, donors will help to save the lives of Almost Home Boxer Rescue pets, and help to improve their quality of life.
Pets for Patriots beneficiaries receive discounted veterinary care, pet food and other services, which many shelters do not have the financial means to provide.
Potential donors can make a contribution at Flooring America of Chandler, 6909 W. Ray Road, Suite 5. To learn more about Pets for Patriots or Flooring America, visit www.FlooringAmericaofChandler.com.
