City services affected by Thanksgiving

City of Phoenix offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 23 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Buses and Dial-a-Ride will operate on Sunday schedules on Thursday and Friday. Light rail will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thursday, Nov. 22, but will return to regular service on Friday. Express and RAPID will not operate. Parking in metered spots will be free on Thursday, Nov. 22.

Thursday’s same-day collection moves to Friday, Nov. 23 and Friday’s collections will move to Saturday, Nov. 24. The 27th Avenue and North Gateway Garbage/Recycle Transfer Stations will be closed on Thursday and Friday.

All Phoenix libraries, including Ahwatukee’s Ironwood branch, will be closed on Thursday and Friday. The normal schedule will resume Saturday and Sunday.

The offices of Ahwatukee Foothills News will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22, but will reopen for regular hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 23.
