A man accused of terrorizing an Ahwatukee Foothills neighborhood with bombs in 2008 has been sentenced to 10.5 years in prison, and another four years of probation.

Robert Franklin, 54, pled guilty to endangerment, two counts of depositing explosives, and aggravated assault, according to Vincent Funari, public information officer for Maricopa County Superior Court.

Judge Roger Brodman sentenced Franklin to 10.5 years in prison and four years probation on Sept. 30, Funari said.

Franklin was originally arrested in December of 2009 and booked into jail for possession of marijuana, according to court records.

The bomb squad and the Phoenix Fire Department served a search warrant on Franklin's home in 2009 and removed some evidence, as well as two pellet guns.

Franklin had been terrorizing the neighborhood using small explosives and a pellet gun to blow out lights, according to earlier reports from the Phoenix Police Department. Police investigated the crimes for nearly a year before an arrest was made.
