Phoenix police have arrested an Ahwatukee Foothills man accused of fatally stabbing one of his roommates during a fight early Sunday morning.

Phoenix police say 51-year-old Gregory Bell was booked on one count of second-degree murder and one count of assault.

Investigators say Bell stabbed his roommate in the chest during the argument Sunday in a home inside a gated community near Foothills Golf Course. Bell apparently fled the scene in a red Mercedes, though he was caught a few miles away.

Bell’s roommate, whose identity hasn’t yet been released, was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

It is unknown how many people were living in the home or how many were home at the time of the argument.
