A man was hit and killed on a motorcycle on Pecos Road in Ahwatukee Foothills Tuesday night after a car failed to yield at a stop sign, according to police.

Sgt. Joel Tranter said that around 6 p.m. a 43-year-old male was traveling westbound on a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle on Pecos Road. A 63-year-old female was traveling southbound in a 2007 Audi on 17th Avenue. The female driver made a left turn to go eastbound on Pecos but failed to yield from the stop sign and hit the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a county hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The accident is being investigated by police. There were no signs of impairment, Tranter said. Any citations or charges will depend on the results of the investigation.

There were no other passengers in the Audi and no injuries other than the fatality.
