The Arizona Women's Hall of Fame (AWHOF) is now accepting nominations for the 2012 induction. The Executive Committee of the Women's Hall of Fame encourages nominations of Arizona women from all walks of life and various ethnic backgrounds who have been deceased for at least two years, and who have contributed in significant ways to their communities and to the state.
Five women will be chosen from the nominees that are submitted. Nominations are due by Dec. 30, and should be sent to the Arizona State Archives, 1901 W. Madison, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Nomination forms are available at www.lib.az.us/awhof.
The Arizona Women's Hall of Fame program pays tribute posthumously and in perpetuity, the remarkable women whose contributions created and shaped our communities.
Every two years, the Arizona Women's Hall of Fame inducts five new members who played a significant role in Arizona's history in such fields as the arts, athletics, business, education, government, the humanities, philanthropy or science. The honorees join the permanent exhibit at the Carnegie Center in Phoenix.
