Three Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department community centers are offering full-day winter break programs to keep kids active and engaged over the holidays. Supervised activities will include gym-based sports, games, crafts, outdoor play and more.
The Beuf, Pecos and Eastlake community centers each are offering programs, which are two weeks long and correspond with the winter break calendars of the surrounding school districts.
The program at Pecos, 17010 S. 48th St., goes through Jan. 2, and is for kids ages 6 through 14. It costs $130 for the two-week program.
All 13 of the department's full-service community centers also will be open throughout the winter break for drop-in recreation. Details on the winter break programs are available in the "Classes and Programs" link on the department website at phoenix.gov/parks. Details on all the community and recreation centers are available in the "Recreation and Community Centers" link. General information is also available by calling (602) 262-6862.
