A water leak at Mountain Pointe High School in Ahwatukee will affect traffic through the school’s front parking lot near Knox Road, according to school officials.

The leak was located between the flag poles and the auditorium of the parking lot, according to a letter sent out to parents by Principal Bruce Kipper.

The district dispatched a crew Friday morning after the leak was discovered. Regular traffic near 44th Street and Knox Road is not expected to be backed up.

The leak will affect  those visiting Mountain Pointe and for parents picking up students after school. School security and staff will help direct traffic.

Kipper warned parents and the community to plan accordingly as crews work to clear the lot after school.
