City services affected by New Year’s Day holiday

City of Phoenix offices will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day.

Phoenix city buses and Dial-a-Ride will operate on a Sunday schedule on Jan. 1. Light rail will run on a regular schedule with enhanced service on Monday, Dec. 31 for New Year’s Eve. The light rail will run on a Sunday schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 1. Express and RAPID buses will not operate. Parking in metered spots will be free on Jan. 1.

All Phoenix Public Library locations will be closed on New Year’s Day.

Tuesday’s trash collection will move to Wednesday, Jan. 2. Wednesday’s collection will move to Thursday and Thursday’s collection will move to Friday, Jan. 4. Friday’s collection will move to Saturday.

Transfer stations will run on holiday hours (6 a.m. to 3 p.m.) on New Year’s Eve. They will be closed on New Year’s Day.

The offices of the Ahwatukee Foothills News will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day.
