Mayor Greg Stanton will kick off Phoenix’s year-long countdown to Super Bowl XLIX with a downtown Super Pool Party at the rooftop outdoor pool of the Palomar Hotel.

The party will begin at 2 p.m. Feb. 2 and will occupy the entire Lustre Rooftop Garden, 2 E. Jefferson St., which features a heated pool, big screen televisions, an outdoor bar and scenic views of downtown Phoenix.

“We’re watching this year’s Super Bowl at the pool with a cold drink and the sun on our faces,” said Stanton. “We’re showing why Phoenix will be a fantastic host for next year’s Super Bowl.”

Temperatures on Sunday are expected to remain in the mid-60s, and Phoenix skies will remain clear.

The party is for those 21 and older and is presented by Downtown Phoenix Inc. and its affiliates Downtown Phoenix Partnership and Phoenix Community Alliance, as well as the Downtown Phoenix Journal, CityScape, Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix, the Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau, Four Peaks Brewing, Shamrock Foods and Pro2U.
