A three car accident blocked traffic trying to get onto the I-10 westbound onramp at Elliot Tuesday afternoon.
So far the investigation showed that a navy blue van ran a red arrow to turn left onto the I-10 on ramp at Elliot and collided with two other cars who were headed west bound, said Officer Greg Duarte with Tempe Police Department.
One car was able to drive away from the accident while the van and another car had to be towed away. The van appeared to have rolled onto its side.
Only minor injuries were reported. Two drivers were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries, Duarte said. It was unknown how many passengers were involved.
The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. and was mostly cleared by 6 p.m. Cars turning right onto the ramp were still allowed onto the freeway.
