Phoenix's public library system has launched a new online service called "PhoenixWorks," offering help and guidance to job seekers.
The site is meant to help with such things as applying for unemployment benefits, finding the nearest local workforce center, writing a resume or cover letter, and preparing for an interview. It offers information about online job searching and effective networking.
Users also will have access to a variety of practice exams, including those for the GED, SAT and LSAT. Additionally, the site offers training and reference manuals for IT professionals and language study tools.
Visitors to PhoenixWorks will need a library card to access some of the site's features. Library cards are free to Maricopa County residents and may be obtained by visiting any Phoenix Public Library location. The Phoenix Public Library system has 16 branches, including the Ironwood Library in Ahwatukee Foothills, 4333 E. Chandler Blvd.
