A head-on collision between a Mercury Topaz and a Honda Accord at 44th Street and Warner Road in Ahwatukee Foothills Tuesday afternoon sent the driver of each vehicle to area hospitals.
The accident happened after 2 p.m. when the turquoise Topaz turned left from westbound Warner Road onto 44th Street straight into the path of the oncoming Honda, which was traveling eastbound on Warner, said Phoenix Police Officer Matt Gile.
The man driving the Topaz was at fault, Gile said. Both that driver and the woman driving the Honda were strapped to backboards and taken by ambulance to hospitals in Phoenix and Chandler as a precaution, he said.
