A couple was found dead inside their Ahwatukee Foothills home on Monday afternoon from apparent gunshot wounds.

Police were called to a home near the 3700 block of East Long Lake Road on June 10 shortly after noon to respond to an injured person.

The doors of the home were all locked, but police forced entry and located the couple in the bedroom of the home. The names of the couple have not been released but they are described as a white female, approximately 56 years old, and a white male, approximately 61 years old, said Sgt. Steve Martos of the Phoenix Police Department.

Investigators had not yet gone through the scene late Monday afternoon, but once they arrive Martos said he expects them to be on scene for at least four hours.

Police have no suspect information at this time, but said they would not rule out a murder-suicide situation.
