Phoenix police are searching for a 25-year-old Valley man who may have gone missing on South Mountain on May 15.
Brian Histand was last seen on Wednesday, May 15 near 35th Avenue and Dobbins Road walking southbound toward South Mountain, according to friends. His vehicle was found in the same area on Friday, May 17 after his keys were discovered in an open field. His wallet, ID, credit cards and bicycle were also found with the vehicle.
Histand is described as being white, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. He has blue eyes and brown hair. He is not carrying any identification with him.
Histand may have become somewhat confused two days prior to his disappearance, friends said.
“It is possible that he may have suffered a concussion in a fall while BMX riding and not have known it and/or that the confusion could be a result of post-concussion syndrome,” friends said in a statement.
Histand grew up in Pennsylvania. As a professional BMX rider he relocated to Phoenix where he has worked on his Veil Brand line of BMX clothing as well as riding, editing and filming BMX in Phoenix, Glendale and Peoria. He was also known to enjoy hiking trails in South Mountain Park.
