Each summer, food banks in Arizona find their shelves a bit more empty as holiday food drives are still months away. Ahwatukee-based Clean ‘N Fresh Cleaning and local businesses want to help fill those shelves.

Families can donate a brown bag filled with nonperishable items for the United Food Bank now through Sept. 30 in Ahwatukee at: Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce, 4435 E. Chandler Blvd.; State Farm, 4645 E. Chandler Blvd.; Edward Jones, 3646 E. Ray Road, Suite 6; Dr. Rapacz, 3646 E. Ray Road; KBella Salon, 1339 E. Chandler Blvd.; and at Clean ‘N Fresh, 15815 S. 46th St.

Clean ‘N Fresh Cleaning owner Norma McCormick and her crews gathered more than 430 pounds of nonperishable goods last year, providing nearly 900 meals. As a bonus, when you donate a brown bag filled with nonperishable items for the United Food Bank now through Sept. 30, you can receive a 15 percent discount on carpet, upholstery or tile and grout cleaning.

For more information, call McCormick at (480) 821-1481.
