For the second consecutive summer, Salt River Project (SRP) is helping customers save energy, conserve water and beautify the environment with the popular SRP Shade Tree Program.

Customers can receive up to two desert-adapted shade trees. To participate, customers must attend a workshop designed to educate them about how to select, plant and care for their trees in order to increase the trees’ survivability and maximize energy savings. The saplings range in height from 4 to 6 feet.

Workshops will be:

• June 22 at Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 N. Galvin Parkway.

• July 27 at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, Williams Campus, 7360 E. Tahoe Ave.

• Aug. 24 at Pecos Community Center, 17010 S. 48th St.
