A collaboration between the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the CDC Foundation has recognized Arizona’s Emergency Kit Cook-Off for its imaginative “Whole Community” approach to preparedness outreach.
The Emergency Kit Cook-Off, http://emergencykitcookoff.blogspot.com, is a participatory activity inspired by the customizable contents of the 72-hour emergency food kit. The Arizona Division of Emergency Management (ADEM) created and manages the nationwide activity. It is held annually during National Preparedness Month in September.
