Arizonans of middle- and low-income may be feeling some stress as they think about preparing their tax returns before the April 17 deadline.

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program is now in full gear, helping people prepare their taxes at sites throughout the state through April 17.

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide Program is a free community service that offers free tax counseling and preparation service for middle- and low-income people, with an emphasis on people over 60. Currently, the program is under way at various sites including churches, libraries and community centers. The service is also available for people who are homebound.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers are trained by AARP in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service. Last year in Arizona, more than 1200 AARP Foundation Tax-Aide volunteers helped file over 95,000 federal and state tax returns at sites across the state.
