New moms looking to lose the last bit of baby fat won’t have to travel far for a workout geared just for them. Stroller Strides in Ahwatukee is starting fresh with new classes for Ahwatukee Foothills moms.

Stroller Strides has been in Ahwatukee for years, but has struggled to get classes going locally. Now a new owner has a new goal to get classes going consistently in Ahwatukee Foothills.

The new owner, Darcy Fincher, said she began going to Stroller Strides in Chandler when her son was first born. When the opportunity came to purchase Stroller Strides in Ahwatukee she was excited to take it.

“One thing I’ve learned about Ahwatukee in this amount of time is that Ahwatukee people are very good at keeping their stuff very local, which is fantastic,” Fincher said. “I want all of us to work together and keep each other successful.”

Fincher is building relationships with local businesses right away to take part in her official grand re-opening of Stroller Strides in Ahwatukee on Monday, Oct. 29 at 9 a.m. at Pecos Park, 17010 S. 48th St.

Residents are invited to take part in a Stroller Strides workout and then enjoy samples from My Fit Foods and an obstacle course for the kids from My Gym. There will be special deals on memberships that day.

Classes will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Pecos Park, beginning at 9 a.m. For more information, visit www.strollerstrides.net/ahwatukee or call (480) 231-3766.
