Some residents northeast of Flagstaff might see big increases in their water bills this winter to offset a loss of hookup fees due to the construction slowdown.

Residents in Doney Park, Timberline, Fernwood and Winona could watch their bills rise by more than 30 percent in early 2012.

The higher rate would pay for items like new wells, new tanks and larger water lines.
