On its 10th anniversary in Ahwatukee Foothills, Vision Community Management is making a big investment in the community by taking over a 8,600-square-foot building on Desert Foothills Parkway.

Vision broke ground at the new building on Friday. Darin Fisher, CEO and managing member of Vision, said he plans to open the new headquarters on July 1.

Vision is one of the largest community management companies in Arizona. It has always been headquartered in Ahwatukee Foothills and as an Ahwatukee resident himself Fisher said he felt it was important to stay near by as they expanded. After a long and difficult search, Fisher’s team identified an unfinished shell at 16625 S. Desert Foothills Parkway that could be transformed to fit their needs.

Currently, Vision has nearly 65 employees but the company has budgeted to hire about seven more in 2013. The company will likely have 70 employees working out of the new office in Ahwatukee when it opens in July, Fisher said.

The company will not continue to work out of its current office at 9633 S. 48th St. once the new building is ready, but will still have a facility in the West Valley. Most of the management personnel and executive team will be headquartered in Ahwatukee.

“I’m very proud of Darin and Vision Management,” said Sen. John McComish during the Vision ground breaking on Feb. 1. “I know it was 10 years ago when Darin had one employee and probably zero payroll at that time. Today, they’ve got about 70 employees and about $3.5 million in payroll from what I understand. That’s terrific. That’s evidence of several things: the entrepreneurial spirit of people like Darin and that the economy is coming back.”

Ahwatukee Foothills Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Anne Gill also spoke at the ground breaking. She said Fisher is well known for his charitable work and involvement in the community, which has no doubt helped to grow his business.

“I think what Darin is doing is the epitome of what’s happening in Ahwatukee,” Gill said. “He has grown his business working with people, developing partnerships and relationships and working together. I think that’s what the businesses in the community here in Ahwatukee do so well. They support each other and build a great community where we can live, work and play.”

Fisher said his company’s expansion would not be possible without the relationships and friends he has made, as well as his employees.

“All of you collectively should be sharing in the success,” he said. “This is truly an Arizona story. We’ve worked together. We’ve built this together. We’ve created jobs together. We’ve taken care of each other… In my work I’ve had the absolute honor more than 300 times getting to say my absolute two favorite words in the world, ‘You’re hired.’ It’s a wonderful experience to be able to do this.”
