From the source (Q&A): Grace Inn

Howard Grace, president of W.M. Grace Companies of Phoenix, announced the company has sold the Grace Inn in Ahwatukee to a Canadian company.

Grace Inn is a 165-room hotel in Ahwatukee that the Grace company built 26 years ago as the community was just being developed. The hotel originally opened as a Best Western-franchised hotel for many years before becoming an independent property. The Grace Inn has been a fixture in Ahwatukee for many years, hosting many local events and providing convention and meeting space.

“It was a bittersweet pill when we decided to sell the Grace Inn,” said Grace. “It’s been in our hotel division from the beginning as our first hotel property. The property needed some new capital invested in it and re-flagged with a new franchise system, and we just thought it was time to let some other party take a run at that. We found a Canadian-based company that has recently bought some other hotel properties in Arizona and they plan a major remodel in the near future that will be great for Ahwatukee, our customers and employees.

“On behalf of our family we just wanted to say ‘thank you’ to the Ahwatukee community for being so loyal and supportive over the years. The new owners have some major plans that they will announce soon. The Grace Inn name will be coming down in the near future but we will always be grateful to the community.”
