Tide Dry Cleaners, an eco-friendly dry cleaning service, opened it doors to the Ahwatukee community on Feb. 21.

The Ahwatukee location is just the second of five Tide Dry Cleaners that Panda Dry Cleaning LLC plans to open this year as part of its partnership with Procter & Gamble. The first Tide Dry Cleaners opened in 2007 in the Kansas City, Kan., area. The first Panda Dry Cleaning franchise opened in Henderson, Nev., in December of 2011. There are currently eight Tide locations in the United States.

The new dry cleaning business is located in the Village of Ahwatukee, 3956 E. Chandler Blvd., near 40th Street, and is open seven days a week.

“We chose this location because the Phoenix area is a growing metropolitan area, and the Ahwatukee Village offers a great base of consumers that are seeking a better quality dry cleaning experience,” said Mark Tarzian, chief operating officer of Panda Dry Cleaning.

Tide Dry Cleaners offers 24-hour drop boxes, a 24-hour kiosk, free minor repairs, alterations, wedding dress preservation and leather cleaning. The business also promotes an environmentally friendly dry cleaning process. There are also in-store products available for purchase. The company prides itself on “changing dry cleaning for good” and allowing customers to “discover a fresh approach to dry cleaning”.

Tarzian believes that Tide Dry Cleaners offers a level of service and cleaning care that is unmatched in the marketplace. The business is known for its consistency, personalized customer service and superior cleaning performance. He also believes that the prices are comparable with other cleaning services in the market.

Tide Dry Cleaners offers an Inner Circle Rewards program. Members of the program receive information on amenities, special services and seasonal promotions. Members will also receive exclusive e-mail promotions.

In addition to the Inner Circle Rewards program, Tide Dry Cleaners has a Dress for Success donation area. Dress For Success promotes economic independence by providing professional attire for disadvantaged women. Customers can donate their gently worn clothing items to the organization to help local families in the area. All donations are tax-deductible.

“Our services are unique, eco-friendly and come with an unmatched level of service. We are truly striving to change the customer experience, and change dry cleaning for the good,” Tarzian said.

Arselia Gales is interning this semester for the Ahwatukee Foothills News. She is a sophomore at Arizona State University.
