The fresh Mexican taste of Qdoba is spreading across the state, including the newest location on Chandler Boulevard in Ahwatukee Foothills.

Jim Comerford, owner of the new location, said he’s been a Subway franchisee for years before he heard about Qdoba. He had a friend who opened up his own franchise and was telling him how great the company was, but it wasn’t until Comerford tried the food that he was sold.

“I, by coincidence, was doing some real estate development in Colorado and stopped into one there and was taken in by the quality of food,” he said. “It was just outstanding.”

Now Comerford is working to bring more of that same great food to the Phoenix area. The company is nationwide but only had a few stores in Arizona. The location off Chandler Boulevard just fit everything the franchisee was looking for.

“It’s a great neighborhood with several businesses, schools, traffic counts that were very strong,” Comerford said. “The location just seemed to be a natural for Qdoba.”

He said customers to the new Qdoba location can expect a friendly smile when they walk in the door, great food and a lot of variety and alternatives. The company’s closest competition is Chipotle.

Something else that sets the restaurant apart is the fact that much of their income comes from catering, Comerford said. They can deliver and cater to groups of all sizes.
