Arizona will welcome the next doughnut revolution – Fractured Prune Doughnuts, which has a cult following for offering consumers always hot doughnuts, hand-dipped and topped to order. The first of many stores expected in Arizona will open in Chandler at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29.

The unique Fractured Prune Doughnuts concept was created in 1976 in Ocean City, Md. Since then, it has spread along the East Coast and, most recently, has headed across the country to areas like Arizona, Utah and Michigan with many more to come in the near future.

The doughnut shop developed into a popular East Coast tradition due to its proprietary blend of flour, unique combinations of flavors and always hot doughnuts. The brightly-colored doughnut shop celebrates the individual and encourages consumers to find their “inner doughnut genius” by choosing from 19 different glazes and 14 different toppings.

Arizona’s first Fractured Prune is set to open at the northeast corner of Ray and Rural roads at 4910 W. Ray Road, Suite 1, in Chandler at 6 a.m. on April 29. The first guests, anticipated to be overnighters, will walk the purple carpet for giveaways, including free T-shirts and free dozen doughnut certificates to be used on future visits. The first 100 customers in the store will all receive something.
