A new real estate company in Ahwatukee Foothills believes keeping the focus on successful agents is what will ultimately create a successful company.

CEO and designated broker Patti Haugland started Stone Path Real Estate in 2011 in Gilbert.

“After the big crash in the market I was watching news story after news story about all these companies laying people off,” Haugland said. “It was devastating to hear about it, but what I never heard anything about were the poor real estate agents who were losing everything they had. Their industry got shut down to a screeching halt. If you weren’t positioned right in the foreclosure world then you were trying to figure out how to stay in the game.”

At the time Haugland said she had positioned herself correctly to become very active in the foreclosure market and she was able to still be successful in a bad market, but the same was not true for many around her.

“I made a decision to really build a path for success for Realtors,” she said. “Most real estate companies open their doors and serve buyers and sellers of real estate. That’s in the first sentence of their business plan. Really, mine wasn’t. We have a motto of ‘Finding the path to the perfect home,’ but really what it means internally is the path to success for Realtors.”

The secret, Haugland said, is finding agents who are ethical, work hard, do things the right way, and who can notice trends and have a little foresight. When an agent is successful they can help their clients to be successful as well.

Stone Path has focused on finding agents who have a passion for what they do. As the company has grown (they have their office in Gilbert, one in Tucson, and are opening another in Scottsdale soon) Haugland said she’s been able to find many agents that live in Ahwatukee. It only made sense to open an office in their community.

The Ahwatukee location is at 1238 E. Chandler Blvd., Suite 102, in the old Russ Lyon office space, which has been vacant since 2007. Stone Path is a full-service brokerage and provide residential services, leasing, commercial and investor services.

“We wanted to be the local real estate experts here,” said branch manager Jacqueline Stowe. “Where people can feel comfortable to come in and have a cup of coffee and talk and get any information you need.”

The office opened in mid-December, but they hope to have 100 agents working from the Ahwatukee location by the end of this year.
